New Hanover football falls to Northside Jacksonville, 35-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Northside Jacksonville used several big plays Friday night to pull away from New Hanover for a 35-0 win. Northside struck early when Zion Jones powered through the Wildcats’ defense for a rushing touchdown.

New Hanover answered on defense when a Northside pass was tipped off a receiver’s hands and intercepted by Damonte Hill. But Northside kept the pressure on. Quarterback Reginald Gray connected with Evan Wanga on a 40-yard pass that Wanga took into the end zone.

The pair connected again later, this time on a 70-yard touchdown pass for their second big scoring play of the night. Northside Jacksonville went on to shut out New Hanover, 35-0.
