Wilmington Coffee Fest returns this weekend to the Cargo District

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Coffee lovers will have plenty to sip and sample this weekend as Wilmington Coffee Fest returns to the Cargo District.

The two-day event begins Friday, Sept. 18, with activities for the local coffee industry, including vendor cuppings, discussions, networking and a judged coffee competition at Azalea Station.

Friday evening, local baristas will compete in the fifth annual Latte Art Throwdown at Azalea Station. The competition is free and open to the public.

The festival continues Saturday, Sept. 19, with the Wilmington Coffee Fest street fair.

The street fair will feature local coffee shops and roasters offering samples and tastings. Bakers, artisans and tea vendors will also participate.

Festivalgoers will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite hot brewed coffee and iced or cold coffee.

Tickets are required for Saturday’s festival, with organizers saying a portion of ticket sales will be donated to two local nonprofit organizations.
