Card collectors gather for trading card show at Independence Mall

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Trading card fanatics packed Independence Mall during the weekend to buy, trade, and sell trading cards.

Dozens of card collectors turned out over the weekend for a “TCG and Sports Card Show” at Independence Mall, where attendees could buy, trade and sell a wide variety of cards.

Some collectors arrived with briefcases, hoping to find the perfect addition to their collections. Cards ranged from Pokémon and baseball to hockey.

Friends Mitchell Smith and Britt Wilson shared some of their favorite cards.

“I’m a Duke fan, as you can tell. I like Cooper Flagg, so I have a Cooper Flagg autograph right now,” Smith said. “My favorite card in my collection is probably a Paul Skenes autograph,” said Wilson

Carolina Sports Promotions, which hosted the event, will return for the next card show at American Legion Post 10.
