Pender County Schools to operate on regular schedule amid boil water advisory

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Seven Pender County schools affected by a water line break on Highway 421 near Blueberry Road will operate on their regular schedules Wednesday, Sept. 23.

A boil water advisory will be in effect at the affected schools.

The schools are Rocky Point Elementary, Heide Trask High, Pender High, Cape Fear Elementary, Cape Fear Middle, Malpass Corner Elementary and Pender Innovative Learning Academy.

Bottled water will be available at all seven schools. The advisory will not affect lunch service.

Students should report to school as usual, and buses will operate on their regular schedules.

The district says additional updates will be shared through its family notification system and other district communication channels as needed.
