Three Cape Fear Shuckin’ Shack locations team up for blood cancer fundraiser
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Three Shuckin’ Shack locations in the Cape Fear are joining together Saturday to raise money for Blood Cancer United.
The Carolina Beach, Wilmington and Leland locations will host separate “One Day, One Cause” events Saturday, Sept. 26, as part of Shuckin’ Shack’s annual Turn the Tide campaign.
The campaign has raised more than $300,000 over the past four years.
In Carolina Beach, the fifth annual Benefit Block Party will run from noon to 7 p.m. The event will feature four live acoustic music sets and all-day raffles. The location will donate 100% of its total daily sales to Blood Cancer United.
The Wilmington location will hold its event from 2 to 8 p.m., beginning with an oyster-eating competition at 2 p.m. Live music and raffles are also planned.
A $50 all-you-can-eat oyster roast will run from 4 to 8 p.m., with all proceeds donated to Blood Cancer United.
In Leland, the One Day, One Cause Benefit Party will run from 2 to 10 p.m. and feature live music from Papa Midnight Band and Dave’s Garage Band, along with local raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
The Leland location will donate 20% of its total daily sales to the cause.
All three events are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26.
