Free community health fair planned for Pender County
Currie, NC (WWAY) — A free community health fair Thursday will offer vaccinations and other health resources to Pender County residents.
The Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership Development is partnering with Moore’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church to hold the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, located at 60 Minuteman Road in Currie.
Organizers say flu, pneumonia, RSV and COVID-19 vaccinations will be available at no cost.
Several organizations are expected to participate, including Trinity Health Care, Coastal Horizons, the Pender County Health Department, State Employees’ Credit Union of Burgaw and Walgreens of Burgaw.
The health fair is open to the public and free to attend. Organizers say participating agencies will also provide community resources and giveaways.
Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership Development operates several programs in southeastern North Carolina, including community health initiatives, leadership training for youth and adults and programs working with the judicial system.
