Cape Fear Latinos Festival and Parade return to Wilmington this weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Latinos Parade and Festival return to downtown Wilmington Saturday, bringing a celebration of Latino culture along with temporary street closures.

The third annual Cape Fear Latinos Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

The parade will begin on Water Street between Walnut and Red Cross streets before traveling south on Water and Nutt streets to Riverfront Park.

Street closures will impact Water and Nutt streets between Walnut and Harnett streets. Large city vehicles will be placed at intersections along the parade route, and the Wilmington Police Department will provide traffic control.

People traveling through downtown Saturday morning are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time.

Following the parade, the fifth annual Cape Fear Latinos Festival will take place from noon to 6 p.m. at Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park, located at 10 Cowan St.

The festival will feature live entertainment, food, dancing and family-friendly activities celebrating Latino culture and community.
