Weekend events bring fall activities, live music and festivals to Cape Fear
Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Several events are planned across the Cape Fear this weekend, offering activities ranging from pumpkin decorating and live music to a sky lantern festival.
His Chosen Outreach Ministries will host a free pumpkin painting event Saturday at 11 a.m. at Davis Event Hall. The event is open to children ages 7 to 12, with prizes planned for the top three pumpkin decorators.
Also Saturday, Liverfest will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at Fermental in Wilmington’s Cargo District. The family-friendly event will feature local vendors, food and live music.
The event is also intended to provide businesses affected by the cancellation of Riverfest with another opportunity to connect with the community. Proceeds will benefit the American Liver Foundation.
Later Saturday, the Ascent Sky Lantern Festival is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. along the Wilmington Riverwalk. The event will include live entertainment, music, vendors and interactive activities before a lantern launch. Tickets are available online.
Weekend events continue Sunday in Carolina Beach with Sunday Fun Day Spookfest at Good Hops Brewing. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. and is expected to feature more than 50 vendors, food trucks, desserts and live music from Dirt Road Sinnerz.
