CFCC becomes FANUC-certified robotics training institution

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College is now a FANUC-certified robotics training institution, allowing enrolled students to earn an industry robotics credential at no additional cost.
CFCC announced Tuesday that its instructors have earned credentials through FANUC’s Certified Education Robot Training program.
According to the college, CFCC is now the only institution within a 60-mile radius offering FANUC training certified through the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute.
Students can earn the FANUC Handling Tool and Programming certification through CFCC’s ATR-212 Industrial Robotics course.
The course provides instruction in robotics and automation technology used in the manufacturing industry.
“The FANUC certification covers everything from initial setup to putting robotic systems directly into production,” CFCC Electronics Engineering Technology Program Director Jordan Crowson said. “Past graduates who earned this credential have successfully leveraged it to secure jobs programming robots across a variety of industrial applications.”
The Industrial Robotics course is part of CFCC’s Electronics Engineering program but is open to students in any discipline.
There are no prerequisites for the course.
More information about CFCC’s Electronics Engineering Technology program is available through the college’s website.
