WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 30th annual Art in the Arboretum Show and Sale in Wilmington has been rescheduled for Halloween weekend due to the possibility of high winds and rainy weather.

The event, organized by Friends of the New Hanover County Arboretum and New Hanover County Cooperative Extension, will now take place Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the seven-acre New Hanover County Arboretum.

Visitors can explore artwork displayed throughout the gardens, browse pieces from participating artists and purchase food from local food trucks.

This year’s event will also feature a special youth art display showcasing work from young artists at the Dreams Center for Arts Education and Kids Making It.

The New Hanover County 4-H Youth Development program will provide an activity for children.

A raffle featuring 14 items will also be held as part of the event.

General admission is $5, with tickets available at the gate.

Admission is free for children ages 12 and younger, military members with a current ID and current Friends of the Arboretum members.

Organizers say the event was postponed because of the possibility of high winds and rainy weather during its originally scheduled weekend.

The new dates are Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, with festival hours remaining 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

More information about the event and raffle is available through Friends of the New Hanover County Arboretum.
