West Brunswick comes back in must-win conference game, defeating New Hanover 26-21

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — West Brunswick rallied from an early deficit to defeat New Hanover 26-21, overcoming a strong start by the Wildcats to snap its losing streak.
New Hanover took advantage of an early three-and-out by the Trojans, with Messiah Brockington scoring on the Wildcats’ first offensive play to give them the lead.
Brockington found the end zone again on New Hanover’s next possession, using his balance to break through the defense and extend the Wildcats’ advantage to 14-0.
West Brunswick responded when quarterback Kyle Floyd connected with Eden Romero for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 14-6.
Later in the first quarter, New Hanover quarterback Ronan Brady found Brody Tuttle wide open on a play-action pass for another touchdown, extending the Wildcats’ lead to 21-6.
The Trojans answered with another touchdown pass from Floyd, this time to Marzell Stanley, to keep the game within reach.
West Brunswick carried that momentum into the second half, rallying to secure the 26-21 comeback victory.
