26th annual Amigos International Festival returning to Wilmington in November

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 26th annual Amigos International Festival is returning to Wilmington next month, bringing a weekend of international food, live music, dancing and family-friendly activities.
The festival will take place Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 15, from noon to 6 p.m. at Ogden Park, near Market Street and Gordon Road.
The two-day celebration highlights the diverse cultures of the Cape Fear region, bringing together people from different backgrounds through food, entertainment and community activities.
Festival founder Lucy Vasquez said organizers are expecting an even larger turnout than last year.
Attendees can enjoy authentic cuisine representing countries and regions around the world, including Mexico, Japan, India, El Salvador, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Honduras, the Philippines, Colombia and the Caribbean.
Live entertainment will feature bands, singers and traditional dance groups from across North Carolina, along with local performers. The festival will also offer dance lessons and music from DJs.
Families can visit the Kids Fiesta area, featuring inflatable rides, carnival games, a climbing wall, bungee jumping, piñatas and hourly Mexican Hat Races.
The festival will also include a health and human services fair, giving residents an opportunity to learn about community programs and resources.
Local and regional artists will sell handmade crafts, pottery, jewelry and other items, including artwork from Latin America and other parts of the world.
Businesses and community organizations will also be on hand to connect with festivalgoers.
Organizers say the event is an opportunity for residents of all ages to experience different cultures while enjoying a weekend of food, music and entertainment.
