Pender Patriots roll past South Lenoir 60-14 in dominant home victory
BURGAW, N.C. (WWAY) — The Pender Patriots delivered a dominant performance on their home field Friday night, defeating the South Lenoir Blue Devils 60-14 to secure a much-needed win.
South Lenoir held an early 8-7 lead, but Pender quickly responded. Quarterback Austin Deal handed the ball off to Jahiem Lambe, who broke free for a touchdown to put the Patriots ahead 14-8.
Pender kept the momentum going as Kimon Moore found the end zone for another touchdown. The Patriots then elected to go for two, with Deal handing the ball off to Malcolm Baldwin, who ran in the conversion to extend the lead to 22-8.
The Patriots continued to pull away as South Lenoir struggled to find an answer for Pender’s offense. Deal added a rushing touchdown of his own, helping the Patriots build a commanding 46-8 lead by halftime.
Pender carried that momentum through the rest of the game, cruising to a 60-14 victory over the Blue Devils.
