Brunswick Little Theatre to present ‘Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus’ in December

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Little Theatre will present the holiday production “Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus” from Dec. 3-20.

Set in New York City in 1897, the play follows 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon, who begins questioning whether Santa Claus is real after her friends tell her he is only a story.

Virginia’s father, James, encourages her to write a letter to the local newspaper asking whether Santa Claus exists.

At the New York Sun, veteran journalist Francis Church receives Virginia’s letter while grieving the loss of his wife. He sets out to answer the young girl’s question.

The production explores themes of belief, hope and the holiday season.

Tickets are now available through Brunswick Little Theatre’s website or in person at Ricky Evans Gallery, located at 211 N. Howe St. in Southport.

Performances are scheduled to run from Dec. 3 through Dec. 20.
