North Carolina Blueberry Festival to host third annual Chili Cook-Off in Burgaw

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Blueberry Festival Association will host its third annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Nov. 14, in downtown Burgaw.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dees Park on Courthouse Avenue.
The annual fundraiser brings together local businesses, organizations and community teams to compete in a chili-making competition while raising money for the North Carolina Blueberry Festival Association and its community programs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of homemade chili recipes, ranging from traditional varieties to spicier creations.
Chili tasting requires a $10 donation, which allows participants to sample entries from competing teams and support their favorites.
The event will also feature live music by Justin Cody Fox, awards for competing teams and North Carolina Blueberry Festival merchandise.
“The Chili Cook-Off has quickly become one of our favorite events because it brings our community together for a fun day while supporting the NC Blueberry Festival,” said Crystal Clair Batts, executive director of the North Carolina Blueberry Festival Association. “We’re excited to welcome everyone back for our third year and see who takes home the titles!”
The competition is open to the public and is scheduled to run until 3 p.m.
