Several people displaced after early morning house fire in Southport

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Southport Fire Department responded to a house fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters say the blaze started around 5:30 a.m. in the attic.

Southport Fire posted on Facebook that all six family members escaped safely.

Howe Street had to be blocked in front of Walmart while crews put out the fire.
