$1 million Mega Millions ticket sold in North Carolina

RALEIGH (WWAY) — A lottery ticket sold at a Johnston County store won $1 million in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, beating the odds of 1 in 18.5 million.

The ticket was sold at the Speedway on N.C. 42 East in Clayton. It matched all five white balls drawn, which were 1-8-15-36-43. The yellow Mega Ball was 6.

A second ticket won $5,000 in the Mega Millions drawing by matching four of the white balls and the Mega Ball. That ticket was purchased at the Sheetz on Benvenue Road in Rocky Mount.

These lucky winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

No one won Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot so Tuesday’s jackpot will grow to $67 million as an annuity or $39.7 million as a lump sum.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is $119 million as an annuity or $71.2 million as a lump sum.

Every year, ticket sales for the NC Lottery raise more than half a billion dollars for education.
