CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The American Cancer Society will host its annual ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Pink Tide 5K and Bachelor Auction’ Saturday, Oct. 3, in Carolina Beach.

The Pink Tide 5K will begin at Lake Park, with the 5K run starting at 8 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9 a.m. The event will include a celebration of breast cancer survivors.

The Bachelor Auction will be held at The Lazy Pirate in Carolina Beach. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with the auction beginning at 6 p.m.

The fundraiser aims to support breast cancer awareness and provide resources for breast cancer survivors, metastatic breast cancer thrivers, caregivers and families.

The American Cancer Society says more than 321,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the United States in 2026.

Organizers say the Pink Tide 5K and Bachelor Auction, along with the Making Strides event in the Triangle, typically draw between 7,000 and 10,000 participants across coastal and Triangle communities and raise more than $350,000.

Local breast cancer survivors, American Cancer Society staff and volunteers, and 10 area bachelors and local business owners will be available for interviews during the events.
