Applications open for 2026-2027 Brunswick County leadership program

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WWAY) — Applications are now being accepted for the 2026-27 Leadership Brunswick County program, a nine-month leadership development initiative sponsored by Brunswick County’s three chambers of commerce.
The program is designed to prepare current and emerging leaders by providing participants with a deeper understanding of Brunswick County’s government, economy, education, nonprofits and other community issues.
Applicants must live or work in Brunswick County and demonstrate a commitment to community involvement. A limited number of participants will be selected.
The program runs from September 2026 through May 2027, with participants meeting one day each month. To graduate, participants must also complete volunteer service, attend local government meetings and participate in chamber events.
Tuition is $450 for chamber members and $500 for non-members.
Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, and applicants will be notified of their selection by Sept. 9.
The program is offered through the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce and Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce.
