Arrest order issued in Brunswick County case involving Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An order for the arrest of Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law was issued in Brunswick County this week after court records show she failed to appear for a scheduled court date related to a speeding citation.
According to court documents, 36-year-old Jennifer Schmitt Belichick was cited for speeding after she was pulled over on Interstate 140 in Brunswick County on May 21.
The citation alleges Belichick was traveling 88 miles per hour in a 70-mile-per-hour zone near the Mount Misery Road exit.
Court records show she was scheduled to appear in Brunswick County court on Friday but did not appear. An order for her arrest was issued Monday, according to the records.
Belichick is the daughter-in-law of UNC Chapel Hill football head coach Bill Belichick, who was named the program’s head coach earlier this year.
The case remains pending in Brunswick County court.
