WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A popular coastal art event will return next month as the Harbor Island Garden Club hosts the sixth annual Art at the Harbor Way Gardens, a family-friendly benefit supporting local green space and community projects.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wrightsville Beach Park Baseball Diamond. Organizers say the free event will feature 20 artists from across North Carolina, along with food trucks, educational opportunities, and activities focused on nature and sustainability.

Held in partnership with Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation and Artful Events by Star Sosa, the fair highlights original artwork created during the Wrightsville Beach Invitational Paint Out, where artists paint outdoors throughout the coastal area.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet participating artists, view their work, and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces. A portion of all art sales will benefit the Harbor Way Gardens, a community space maintained by the garden club.

In addition to the art, the event will include food vendors such as The Botanical Coffee Bar and Smash-n-Dash Burgers & Dogs. Seaside Honeybees will also be on site to share information about backyard beekeeping, and attendees can learn about pollinator-friendly gardening practices.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase commemorative bricks or pavers to be installed at Harbor Way Gardens.

Free parking will be available in Wrightsville Beach Park lots for up to two hours with license plate registration, with additional overflow parking nearby.

Founded in 1952, the Harbor Island Garden Club has long supported beautification, environmental education, and conservation efforts in the Wrightsville Beach community. Organizers say the event is designed to bring together art lovers, gardeners, and families for a day that celebrates creativity and coastal stewardship.
