BCSO: Student injured after school bus hit by BB gun

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County student was injured after a school bus was hit by a BB gun this afternoon.

At approximately 4 p.m., a call came into the Brunswick County 911 Center in reference to a possible shot being fired at a Brunswick County School bus on Candlewood Court in Bolivia.

Upon investigation it was determined that the shot came from a BB or pellet type gun.

Deputies say 45 children and a driver were on board the bus at the time, one child sustained a very minor injury. That student was assessed by EMS. A window on the bus was damaged.

The incident is still under investigation.

Earlier this year, deputies say a child accidentally shot a BB gun at a school bus near the intersection of Jones St. and Green Lewis Rd. in Bolivia.
