WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Bellamy Mansion Museum will host a guided walking tour of downtown Wilmington later this month, focusing on buildings and landmarks that no longer exist.

The 90-minute tour, titled “Wilmington: Lost But Not Forgotten,” is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, at 9 a.m. and will begin and end at the museum on Market Street.

Organizers say the tour is being held in recognition of National Preservation Month and will highlight homes, businesses and other structures that have been lost over time. The program is based on the book “Wilmington: Lost But Not Forgotten” by local historian Beverly Tetterton.

The tour will take participants through parts of historic downtown, offering historical context about sites that once played a role in the city’s development.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. The event will be held rain or shine, depending on weather conditions. Organizers note the tour may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility.
