Belville Board of Commissioners to hold public meeting regarding open burning on Tuesday
BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Belville Board of Commissioners will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday to consider possible changes to the town’s open burning ordinance.
This comes after the town of Leland passed an ordinance banning open burning for land clearance in October, following pushback from town residents.
Leland held its own burning workshop in November, which included members from the North Carolina Forestry Service, Department of Environmental Quality, and other state agencies.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on March 24 at the NC State Highway Patrol office at 63 River Road in Belville.
