BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Belville is preparing to tee off for a good cause as its third annual Belville Classic Charity Golf Tournament returns later this month.

The tournament will take place Monday, Oct. 26, at Magnolia Greens Golf Course, with all proceeds benefiting Belville Elementary School.

According to town officials, the event has raised more than $13,000 for the school since its inaugural tournament in 2024.

“All proceeds from the Belville Classic directly benefit Belville Elementary,” said Town Manager Athina Williams. “We’ve raised over thirteen thousand dollars since our first tournament in 2024 and look forward to significantly adding to that total this year, and we need the public’s help to reach our goal.”

The tournament will feature an 18-hole scramble open to golfers of all skill levels.

Participants will also have the opportunity to compete in several contests, including longest drive, closest to the pin and a hole-in-one challenge.

Long Drive Pro Ernie “Boom Boom” Guimond is also scheduled to participate in the event.

In addition to the golf competition, organizers will host a silent auction and raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses.

Funds raised through the tournament and sponsorships will support educational opportunities and resources for students at Belville Elementary School.

“The Belville Classic is an amazing opportunity for our community to come together on one of Southeastern North Carolina’s most beautiful golf courses and have fun while making a difference in a child’s life,” said Belville Mayor Chuck Bost. “We’d like to thank all our sponsors, golfers, and volunteers whose support helps us raise funds and impact the lives of Belville students.”

Town officials are encouraging local businesses, organizations and community members to get involved by registering to play or becoming event sponsors.

Registration is currently open for individual golfers and foursomes, with several sponsorship levels also available.

Those interested in participating can register as a player or team online.

Businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring the event can find additional information in the town’s sponsorship guide.
