Belville to host ‘Back-to-School Bash’ with free backpacks and school supplies

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Belville is inviting families to its annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Belville Riverwalk Park.

The event will feature family-friendly activities, food, vendors and the distribution of 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to help students prepare for the new school year.

Town officials are partnering with local businesses, organizations and residents to collect classroom essentials, including notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks and binders. Monetary donations and sponsorships are also being accepted to help purchase additional supplies.

In addition to the backpack giveaway, the event will include a Flamingo Foam Party sponsored by No Sleeves Magic, a DJ, games, wet and dry inflatable attractions, food trucks and educational resources from local organizations.

The Town of Belville is also seeking volunteers to help assemble the backpacks during a community “Backpack Packing Party” before the event. Donations of school supplies can be dropped off at Town Hall.
