Familiar voices bring ‘The Big Talker’ back to Wilmington, partner with WWAY
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Some familiar voices are back on the radio in Wilmington under a familiar station name, and WWAY is joining them.
The Big Talker returned to the air in March on 106.7 FM. The stationed is programmed by Red Wolf Broadcasting, whose CEO is Chad Adams. He is also one of the station’s hosts. Adams hosted a top-rated talk show in Wilmington on the old Big Talker FM from 2010 to 2013. “The Chad Adams Show,” which also airs in Charlotte and Greensboro, will run on the new station weekdays 9-11 a.m.
The Big Talker FM is partnering with WWAY. The radio station will air an audio simulcast of WWAY’s Good Morning Carolina weekdays from 6 to 7 a.m. WWAY is also providing StormTrack3 Weather updates throughout the day on 106.7.
“We are excited about this renewed relationship with WWAY, as we hope to continue their strong dedication to southeastern North Carolina,” Adams said.
WWAY and Adams have had a relationship for years. WWAY was a weekly part of Adams’s Wilmington-based show. A veteran of North Carolina politics, Adams has served as an Election Night analyst for WWAY several times.
Adams has brought one of his colleagues from the old station back to the Wilmington airwaves with him. “Mornings with Joe Catenacci” starts Monday and will air weekdays 7-9 a.m.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to be a part of this station,” Catenacci said in a news release. “I love southeastern North Carolina, and we will have a fantastic morning show.”
WWAY News Director Kevin Wuzzardo will also be a guest on the debut edition of “Mornings with Joe Catennaci” Monday at 7:30 a.m.
Other shows on The Big Talker including nationally-syndicated Sean Hannity, Dave Ramsey, Mike Gallagher, Dana Loesch and “Coast-to-Cast AM.”
