Bladen Community College to host local author expo, self-publishing workshop
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Bladen Community College’s Small Business Center, in partnership with the Friends of the Bladen County Public Library, will host a local author expo and self-publishing event on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the college’s main campus in Dublin.
The event begins with a free local author expo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby of Building 14, where visitors can meet regional authors, purchase books and have copies signed. Local authors interested in participating in the book signing and displaying their work are encouraged to register with the Friends of the Bladen County Public Library.
A free “Write, Publish & Profit: Write and Self-Publish Your Book for Business Owners” workshop will follow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Building 14, Room 107. Registration is required.
The interactive workshop will be led by small business trainer and author Martin Brossman, with virtual participation from publisher Richard Grassi of Cedar Books. Attendees will learn strategies for planning, writing and self-publishing a book, using artificial intelligence responsibly during the writing process, marketing a published book and using it to help grow a business or professional brand.
The workshop is intended for entrepreneurs, business owners, consultants, coaches, speakers, aspiring authors and anyone interested in publishing a book. No previous writing experience is required.
