Brunswick County low pressure/boil advisory issued

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY)– A main line rupture caused by construction is causing periods of low water pressure and outages in Brunswick County on the Highway 211 corridor between Midway Road and Long Beach Road.

A System Pressure Advisory has been issued for affected communities including, but not limited to, the Town of St. James, the Regency, Arbor Creek, Abbington Oaks, and West Trace.

Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system. Therefore, customers in the affected areas are advised to boil all water used for human consumption, or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
