Boiling Spring Lakes man arrested on assault, drug charges
BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is in jail facing several charges.
On Friday, Boiling Spring Lakes Police arrested Colton Thomas Terrell, 20, of Twin Lakes Drive.
According to his arrest warrants, Terrell picked up a woman by her mouth and slammed her to the floor. Warrants also state Terrell strangled the woman, hit her, threw her against the wall, and slammed her against the floor hard enough to cause serious injuries to her lower back. The alleged crimes happened on May 13.
Terrell is charged with assault on a female, assault inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault by strangulation.
Terrell was also served with an indictment for assault on a female for an unrelated incident that occurred in August 2016 involving a different victim.
After Terrell’s arrest, Boiling Spring Lakes Police and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit searched the home.
Police say they seized over 140 grams of marijuana, over $4,600 in cash, two assault rifles, and drug paraphernalia. Terrell was served with additional charges of felony possession of marijuana, PWISD marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to keep marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Terrell is in the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
Bond was set at $30,000 for the drug charges and to be determined for the domestic violence related charges.
