Brunswick County seeks poll workers ahead of 2026 elections

Bolivia, N.C. (WWAY) —  The Brunswick County Board of Elections is recruiting poll workers to help staff precincts during upcoming elections, with a series of orientation sessions scheduled throughout the summer.

Election officials say poll workers are essential to conducting elections and assist with voting operations at polling places across the county. The positions are open to community members from a variety of backgrounds, including retirees, students, full-time workers and stay-at-home parents.

Residents interested in serving as poll workers are encouraged to attend one of several informational orientation sessions. The no-obligation meetings provide an overview of the election process, voting operations and the responsibilities of precinct officials.

The county has scheduled multiple in-person orientation sessions, including one on Wednesday, July 22, at 10 a.m., with additional sessions planned in August. A virtual orientation will also be offered on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. for those unable to attend in person.

Officials said individuals who decide to participate can complete a poll worker interest form, after which the Board of Elections will contact them with additional information about the application and training process.
