Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant marks 50 years of service

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A longtime member of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating a major milestone Tuesday, marking 50 years since he was sworn in with the agency.

Lt. Donnell Marlowe was sworn in with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 6, 1976, according to the agency.

Five decades later, Marlowe is still serving the department, working part time with the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office recognized Marlowe’s anniversary Tuesday, noting how much has changed in Brunswick County and law enforcement during his five decades of service.

When asked about his career, Marlowe said he would do it all over again and has loved every minute of his time with the Sheriff’s Office.

The agency thanked Marlowe for his continued service, loyalty and dedication to the Brunswick County community.

Tuesday marks exactly 50 years since Marlowe began his career with the Sheriff’s Office.
