Bullet grazes woman on cheek during Willard Street shooting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent one woman to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police responded to the 1300 block of Willard Street around 3:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
While searcing for evidence, officers were notified that a gunshot wound victim had arrived at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Police say Shaquise Caroll, 23, had a graze wound on her cheek.
Police say witnesses told them a man started shooting at the vehicle the victim was in and that someone inside the victim’s vehicle returned fire.
