Burgaw deli owner to appear on “BBQ Brawl”

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — A Burgaw chef is stepping into the national spotlight as the owner of a local deli prepares to appear on a Food Network competition series.

Vincent Mangual, owner of Juniors Deli in Burgaw, is set to compete on the upcoming season of “BBQ Brawl.”

Mangual brings years of experience to the show. While living in New York, he won multiple barbecue competitions before eventually relocating to Burgaw.

After taking part in a 2023 “Own Your Own” cooking competition, Mangual and his family opened Junior’s Deli last September. Not long after opening, he said he received a call from the Food Network about appearing on the show.

Mangual described the opportunity as an experience of a lifetime.

“Absolutely amazing experience. I mean, you’re at the pinnacle, like it’s Food Network, you know, there’s not much more, regardless of how I did on the show, I got to that level,” said Mangual.

The newest season of “BBQ Brawl” is set to premiere May 11 on Food Network.
