Burgaw man charged in 6-month drug investigation

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office said a man has been linked to a six-month drug investigation.

Deputies said they worked with other departments including the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Duplin County Sheriff’s Office during the investigation. They said officers, with the help of U.S. Marshals, arrested Leon Williams Jr., 27, today on charges including possession with intent to sell heroin and other probation violations. Williams was booked in jail under a $400,000 bond.

Deputies added Angelo Ornez Basyden, Byron Levi Basyden, Schecara Keith Acevedo and Gregory Lynn Winfield Jr. were arrested in March in connection with this investigation.
