It’s gone! WWAY’s old station building has been demolished

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Out with the old and in with the new! The old home of WWAY has officially been torn down.

Demolition of the old building on 615 Front Street in downtown Wilmington began in late August and is now in full swing.

WWAY moved from its original location atop the Murchison Building down the street in November 1969.

It was our home until we moved into our new location in Leland back in April.

The new owner has submitted plans to the cityto build a parking lot for now.
