California company develops NASCAR designer shoes

CHARLOTTE (AP) — NASCAR fans have flags, hats, jackets and just about everything possible to show their loyalty to a particular driver. Soon, they can add shoes to their collection.

Genius Fashion of Los Angeles has created a womens' designer shoe line inspired by NASCAR. Creator Shannon Hanna says women can be a part of the scene without being one of the boys.

The shoes are brightly colored, and some of them even include car accessories like rims while others are covered in checkered flags.

Genius Fashion says it plans to launch the shoe line in Belk's flagship store in Charlotte in May. By the fall, the shoes will be available in all 303 Belk stores across the Southeast. They will range in price from 69 dollars to 250 dollars.
