Cape Fear Comedy Festival brings more than 60 comedians to downtown Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you’re looking for a good laugh, downtown Wilmington is the place to be this week.

Cape Fear Comedy Festival is bringing local and national comedians together for the 8th time.

The festival runs Wednesday, May 17th to Saturday, May 20th with events every night. More than 60 performers will take various stages across downtown, all within walking distance of each other.

This four day indie live comedy festival is presented by Dead Crow Comedy and features headliners like Piff the Magic Dragon and Jesse Joyce.

Timmy Sherrill, co-founder of the festival, stopped by Good Morning Carolina to talk about why this event is so great for the city of Wilmington and what you can expect at the events throughout the week.

According to the festival website, venues include: Dead Crow Comedy Room, Reel Cafe, Bourgie Nights, Rooftop Bar @ Front St Theater, Bombers and Hell’s Kitchen.

If you like WWAY’s series, ‘What Did We Miss’, Wills Maxwell will be hosting various shows throughout the festival.
