Cape Fear Habitat receives $35,000 grant from First Citizens Bank

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity has received a $35,000 grant from First Citizens Bank to support the nonprofit’s homeownership and critical home repair programs.

The grant is the second Cape Fear Habitat has received from First Citizens and will provide general operating support for the organization’s programs.

Cape Fear Habitat’s Homeownership program provides affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families. The Critical Home Repair program helps these homeowners address necessary repairs.

“First Citizens Bank has been a great partner to Cape Fear Habitat, and we’re excited to be working with them again,” said Rich Duncan, director of development for Cape Fear Habitat. “Their generosity in granting our organization operational support means we can attribute funds where they are most needed, allowing us to best serve our homeowners.”

Reginald Exum, community development officer at First Citizens, said the bank supports efforts aimed at helping people maintain long-term housing stability.

“We’re honored to support Cape Fear Habitat in helping individuals and families achieve and maintain homeownership,” Exum said.

Cape Fear Habitat said the grant will help support the ongoing operations of its homeownership and repair programs.
