Car fire causes major back up on Cape Fear Memorial Bridge

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As many head home from work this evening, you’ll want to avoid the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge as a car fire has traffic blocked.

New Hanover County Dispatch says it got a call just before 5 p.m. of a car on fire on the eastbound side of the bridge heading into Wilmington.

As of 5:15 p.m. both eastbound lanes are blocked.

Dispatch says no injuries have been reported.
