Carolina Beach gelato shop can now scoop up alcoholic treats

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A Carolina Beach gelato shop wants to start serving up wine-infused adult treats.

Latella Gelato, located on the boardwalk, is looking to add wine-infused gelato or wine-infused Italian ice to their menu. Tuesday night, town council approved them to do so.

Since the property is classified as a bar, council members did raised concerns about what would happen to the property if the shop closed.

After some discussion, council granted the conditional use permit unanimously for the business to serve spiked gelato.
