CFCC, Cameron Art Museum to host lecture on ‘Sense of Place’ exhibition

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College and Cameron Art Museum are partnering for a free lecture exploring an exhibition highlighting the artistic legacy of southeastern North Carolina.

The Wilma W. Daniels Gallery at CFCC will host a curatorial lecture on “Sense of Place” on Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ben Billingsley, curator of exhibitions and collections at Cameron Art Museum and a visual arts instructor at CFCC, will lead the lecture.

The event will explore “Sense of Place,” a collaborative exhibition currently on display at the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery. The exhibition features a selection of works from Cameron Art Museum’s permanent collection focused on the artistic legacy of southeastern North Carolina.

People attending the lecture will also have an opportunity to view the exhibition.

The lecture will be held at the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery on CFCC’s Downtown Campus. It is free and open to the public.

“Sense of Place” will remain on display through Oct. 9.
