Brunswick Community College updates nursing program admissions for Fall 2027

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Community College is updating its nursing program admissions process and schedule for Fall 2027 to provide prospective students with greater flexibility.
Beginning with the Fall 2027 admission cycle, applicants will no longer need to have their certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification when applying. However, students must obtain certification by Aug. 1, 2027, to begin the program.
The college is also moving its nursing programs from a summer start to a fall start in 2027. According to BCC, the change aligns the programs with the traditional academic calendar and provides students with improved access to financial aid opportunities.
BCC offers four nursing pathways: Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, an LPN-to-ADN transition program and a paramedic-to-ADN bridge program.
The college has also added three nursing instructors to support its programs.
Prospective students must attend an in-person nursing information session before applying. The sessions cover program options, admission requirements and provide an opportunity to meet with program representatives.
Applications for Fall 2027 open Dec. 1, 2026, and close Jan. 29, 2027.
The changes come as BCC prepares to mark the 20th anniversary of its Associate Degree Nursing program in 2027.
