CFCC hosts electric car show

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College students held an electric car show this afternoon at the downtown campus.

The show featured “green” cars from Wilmington residents and also some new rides from area businesses.

Students who organized the event hope this will convince students to drive electric cars instead of gasoline vehicles.

“Basically we’re trying to promote electric vehicles on campus and electric car charging stations,” CFCC Green Building Club member Jessica Wilson said. “We’re trying to push an emphasis towards a sustainable fuel source, mainly electricity.”

The Green Building Club hosted the event as part of the US Green Building Council’s Green Apple Day of Service.
