CFCC recognizes outstanding staff and faculty with annual excellence awards
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College has recognized three employees for their outstanding leadership, teaching and commitment to student success through its annual campus excellence awards.
Scott Coulthard, director of enrollment operations, received the President’s Award for Staff for leading efforts to transform the college’s class scheduling process and develop data-driven enrollment management practices.
“Scott’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in modernizing our enrollment services,” CFCC President Jim Morton said. “By staying ahead of student needs, he has built an operational foundation that will serve CFCC for years to come.”
Biology instructor Donna Uguccioni received the President’s Award for Faculty for her innovative teaching, dedication to student success and support of students pursuing university transfer opportunities. She also completed the North Carolina Community College Master Instructor Certification Program.
“Donna brings an unmatched level of energy and passion to Cape Fear Community College,” Morton said. “Her commitment to educational innovation, continuous growth, and student mentorship exemplifies the very highest standards of teaching excellence.”
French instructor Caroline Hudson was honored with the Marilyn Goodman Anderson Award for Excellence in Teaching for fostering an engaging, supportive and culturally enriching classroom environment.
One student praised Hudson’s teaching, saying she made learning enjoyabe while helping students strengthen their French language skills.
“I have taken French with Madame Hudson for three straight semesters, and she has been terrific in every one of them,” the student said. “She lets us have fun in the classes while still effectively informing us about how to better our French knowledge. She was truly one of the best professors I have ever had.”
Recipients of the President’s Award each received a $1,000 award, while the Marilyn Goodman Anderson Award recipient received a $2,000 award in recognition of their contributions to the college.
