CFCC to host Simulation and Game Development Career Discovery Night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College is inviting current and prospective students interested in the video game industry to attend its upcoming Simulation and Game Development Career Discovery Night.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, at 4:30 p.m. on CFCC’s Downtown Campus in the L Building, Room 312, located at 415 N. Second St. A virtual attendance option is also available here.
According to the college, the event will give attendees an opportunity to learn more about CFCC’s Simulation and Game Development program through hands-on activities, conversations with faculty members and information about the enrollment process.
Students in the program use Unreal Engine 5 to build foundational game design skills, develop game mechanics, create project documentation and turn ideas into playable games. The curriculum also includes both individual and collaborative projects.
CFCC says graduates of the program are prepared for careers including content designer, game designer, game programmer, level designer, asset modeler and gameplay animator.
The college says the event is geared toward anyone interested in exploring opportunities in the growing gaming industry.
