WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Big Dawg Theatre Company will continue its 2026 season with a comedic reimagining of the classic story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The company will present Lauren Wilson’s “Chemical Imbalance: A Jekyll and Hyde Play” Oct. 15-18 and Oct. 22-25 at the Ruth and Bucky Stein Theatre at Thalian Hall.

The play reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of Dr. Henry Jekyll and his alter ego, Edward Hyde, as a fast-paced farce. The production combines elements of gothic horror and comedy while exploring themes of morality and the duality of human nature.

Jamie Lane stars as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, with Charlotte Fuchs playing Rosamunda. Mae Domescik portrays twins Penelope and Calliope.

The cast also includes Tamica Katzmann, Christy Grantham, Jake Taylor, Ash Ochs, Lisa Ramsey Perry and Jacob Denise.

Chad Hsu is directing the production, with Terri Hsu serving as stage manager.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.

The Ruth and Bucky Stein Theatre at Thalian Hall is located at 310 Chestnut St. in Wilmington.
