Children’s Museum of Wilmington to host free Sensory Sunday event

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Families of children with sensory sensitivities are invited to enjoy a more comfortable museum experience this weekend during the return of Sensory Sunday at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington.
The event will be held Sunday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sensory Sunday is a bi-monthly program that allows children with varying sensory, developmental and physical needs to explore the museum at their own pace and in their own way.
During the event, the museum reduces lighting and sound levels and provides designated calming spaces to create a comfortable and accepting environment for children and their families.
Organizers say the program is designed to make the museum more accessible and welcoming for all guests.
Thanks to a sponsorship from Bright Bridge ABA, admission for June’s Sensory Sunday will be free for all visitors.
