City moves forward with Cinema Dr. location

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington City Council voted to move forward with building a new fire station on Cinema Drive.

They awarded the Monteith Construction Corporation with a $3.4 million contract Tuesday night.

The station would replace those on Princess Place Drive and Wallace Drive.

The Wilmington Fire Chief has been pushing for this new location to help with response times and consolidate the city’s stations.
