City of Wilmington Riverwalk finally finished

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For more than 30 years the City of Wilmington has been working on the construction for a walkway in Downtown Wilmington. The 1.75-mile Riverwalk is now complete.

The Riverwalk stretches from the foot of Nun Street on the south end all the way to the Isabel Holmes Bridge on the north end.

Since 1980 the city has invested more than $30,000,000 in improvements, repairs, and additions to the Riverwalk.

In light of this news, the city has named November 18 as Riverwalk Day.

The city will celebrate the completed project with a ribbon-cutting Saturday morning at Riverfront Park. For more information on the upcoming event, click here.
